Peak Oil soon may lead to a relapse into a planned economy
Der Spiegel International says that a confidential German military report suggests that early peak oil has to be taken seriously. The UK Government seems to be hiding these documents.
Relapse into planned economy: Since virtually all economic sectors rely heavily on oil, peak oil could lead to a "partial or complete failure of markets...A conceivable alternative would be government rationing and the allocation of important goods or the setting of production schedules and other short-term coercive measures to replace market-based mechanisms in times of crisis."
IMO: So exposure of the facts may not suit the UK Tory party, as capitalist economy buffs they will want to gouge their 'pound of flesh' from the UK taxpayers whilst they can.
