An Indian is now the world's richest man
Mukesh Ambani, of Reliance, is now the world's richest man with assets of Rs 2,49,108 crores ($63.2 billion), ahead of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. The Ambani family, with assets of over $101.7 billion, is well ahead of the Duponts and the Rockefellers. Mukesh's home is (of course) in Mumbai, where I live too. His home is reputedly worth over a billion dollars.
IMO: India is progressing very fast at the moment, but there are many poor Indians whose interests are not yet being well served. But it is good to see that at least some Indian is rich. When in Mumbai shortly I will do a blog giving photos of the nice area around my home, which some say is in one of the best complexes in India, though certainly not at that level.
