BEST said to be best
The Brihanmumbai Electric and Transport Supply Company, which runs the old fashioned red buses on Mumbai's congested roads, are said to run the best bus service in the country. Unlike Blueline of Delhi, which some now say is WORST, apparently so bad that Delhi Govt recently threatened to cancel their permits.
Between April 2005 and March 2006, BEST registered 25 deaths compared to Blueline buses that killed 145 people in 2005. Between April 2006 - March 2007, BEST figures rose to 53, which is still short of the Blueline figure. From April 2007 onwards, BEST has caused 15 deaths while Blueline buses have caused much greater damage. ''We are the best in the country,'' said Uttam Khobragade, GM, BEST.
IMO: Maybe Blueline should change its name to WORST.
