PIA to buy Airbuses to 'appease' EU, Britain

BRUSSELS: The European Union (EU) on Monday decided to include Pakistan's national carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in the list of airlines banned or restricted from flying in the 27-member EU due to safety concerns.

Pakistan is having to 'strike a delicate balance' in its relations with the US and the EU, sources said. Unnamed sources in the government and aviation sector say the ban is to 'pressurise' PIA into buying some Airbuses, instead of the American aircraft Boeing.

IMO: At latest hearing both Fedex and UP have cancelled the A380-800F cargo plane so the A380 cargo plane is a dead goose. Maybe the A380 people are now desperate for some orders.
