Laughing gas craze is no joke, health watchdog warns.
Nightclubs and festivals that sell laughing gas face prosecution and up to two years in jail, a watchdog warned today. In a craze sweeping clubs, revellers are buying £2 balloons filled with nitrous oxide and some clubs have "laughing rooms" filled with the gas to produce a euphoric high, giggling fits and dizziness.
Nitrous oxide can be habit-forming, and death can result. long-term use in very large quantities has been associated with dangerous symptoms similar to vitamin B12 deficiency, anemia, tinnitus, and numbness in extremities.
IMO: Shows how low this country has sunk that the only way you can get a laugh nowadays is by using "hippie crack" as some call laughing gas.
